PARKING LOT OVERLOOK |

Clingman's
Dome parking area's elevation is approximately 6,312' above sea level.
Being one of the highest reference points in the Smokies, colors will
progress here sooner than lower elevations, and is a good benchmark to
predict coming colors! We will be adding different views showing
more trees, unfortunately many of the trees here are dead due apparently
to pollution, acid rain, etc. NOTE: A few of
our friends e-mailed us, and the appears that majority of the dead trees
were actually attacked by an insect, the Balsam Woolly Adelgid.
